old ghost town is too much. She and her friend Kat travel west. While off
exploring on her own, Anna is knocked unconscious when she falls down the steps
in the saloon. She can hardly believe her eyes when she wakes. Beau and Zeke
won the Silver Rush Saloon in a poker game and have been partners and secret
lovers for over ten years. They don't know what to make of the woman they found
half-dressed in their cellar. She claims to know something terrible that's
about to happen to their town and needs their help. Will Anna be able to win
their love and trust before it's too late?
My Review:
get it on. Very voyeuristic I know! But then she gets interrupted by
her BFF Kat who convinces her that they need to go on a road trip to
Vegas, of all places, to scout this historic location for her upcoming
project. [side note: it's a wonder I remember this piece at all! The
sex was so hot that it pretty much ruled the rest of the book for me!]
Arriving at this historic location Kat & Anna split up to snap some pics
and investigate. I feel like I'm regurging the book and I hate to do
that so I'll just say this...Anna falls, hits her head and ends up in
this alternate universe where she meets Beau & Zeke, whom I
adored! At first she's in denial but then gradually grows accustom to
the times *cough* 1800's. What a culture shock that must have been! Can
you imagine?? OK, so this part of the story highly amused me. I loved
that this book didn't try to get all wrapped up in some deep and
involved plot...it's strictly about the sex thank you very much! Well,
there is a plot and it fit well with the theme of the book and was
written well but in my opinion, the sex was were it was at for me.
Anna's instant attraction to both men is reciprocated in more ways
than one! I was really feeling the moment when they have their first
encounter. And despite the fact that Beau & Zeke are lovers they
know how to treat a woman...runnin her bath and wanting to provide for
her and all that good stuff! She's a lucky girl in my opinion!
Anna Doubles Down is a light, fun and fast paced book that will certainly
appeal to those who have erotic appetites. It doesn't get weighed down
with an intricate plot and while the back story is well written, Missy
Martine did an awesome job of putting the erotic at the forefront of the
story. I very much enjoyed the book and found that I was able to
finish it fairly quickly. The story flowed nicely and even had some
laughable moments. I mean, if you look at it as a whole, the story is
silly but that's the best part! It reads like a silly, over-reacted porn
flick. All pretense and no seriousness...sometimes it's nice to read a
book that's simple and easy.

Work-roughened palms with long, tapering fingers roughly
